Ms. Goodman

Hi there! My name is Jillian Goodman and I am a 7th grade ELA and reading teacher at Johnathan Reed. I attended Western Connecticut State University for my Bachelors in English, Southern New Hampshire University for my Masters in English, and the University of Bridgeport for my Sixth Year in Education. I am a single mom, raising an amazing 8-year old (soon to be 9 years old) little girl. We rescue dogs in our free time. We currently only have two rescues at home with us.

I have an open door policy for students and their families. I believe that the key to student success is a team working together to assist the student. I do my best to keep families informed and up to date on what is happening in our classroom.

I try to make our classroom as comfortable as possible by decorating in an inviting manner. A student who feels comfortable and welcome in the classroom is a student who learns. My goal is to help each student achieve at their highest potential. I'm hoping that this website will help families and students stay up to date on classwork, homework, and events. I will post the classwork for the week along with homework assignments and any messages that may need to get to students as reminders for quizzes or when things are coming due. This information is also available on my google classroom, however, there seems to be some trouble with student emails preventing them from logging in. This is an attempt to make materials available until google classroom issues are corrected. I also try to send out the reminders via Dojo because that generates a notification, but only to parents.

Please feel free to reach out to come in and meet me, or to message me and address any concerns you may have about your student or anything in our classroom. I look forward to working with you and getting to know your student!
